Are Tech schools (ITT, Devry) worth the time and money for the education you get?

No - go to community college - it's cheaper and more reputable.

I agree with Sunshine: Community colleges are typically cheaper and provide a better education than for-profit schools like Devry and ITT.

However, to land a good job in accounting, you need at least a four year degree from a college that has been accredited in accounting. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) has a list of accredited schools of business, as well as a list of accredited accounting programs here:
