My Friend and I are trying to study about atoms. Our teacher told us nothing about what he wants us to know. My friend has a relief pack on her head and shes wondering why its not working. I am ready to join her. Please!! Does anybidy know anything about the following...

Atoms...something about Charge of Parts

Please respond ASAP! We need answers fast. So do our circle of friends.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hm. Okay. Here's some stuff about atoms to get you started:

Just like all things are made of atoms, all atoms for the most part are made up of the same three parts. Protons, neutrons, and electrons.

Protons and neutrons are comparatively really heavy. Pretty much all the weight of an atom comes from these guys. Because they're heavy, they don't move around a lot unless the whole atom is moving. Instead they stick together in the center of the atom (also called the nucleus).

Electrons live very different lives. Unlike protons and neutrons, they are not only light but comparatively large. They buzz around the nucleus like planets around a star... or perhaps more like beach balls around a sack of marbles. A lot of chemistry has to do with electrons zipping around, being attracted to one thing or another... or more likely to several things at once.

Another important thing to know about the parts of atoms is their charge. The charge in these parts come from the electric force, which (if you can imagine it) is a billion billion billion billion billion billion times stronger than gravity (yes, that's a one followed by 36 zeroes). The electric force is also involved with electricity that we use in our houses and the like.

The pro- in proton comes from its positive charge. To make things easy for themselves scientists just decided to say a proton has a +1 charge. The neu- in neutron comes from it being neutral. It has zero charge. Electrons have the opposite charge of protons, so they have a -1 charge. Pretty straightforward.

And here's where things get interesting. The name we give an atom (like helium or uranium or whatever) depends ONLY on the number of protons it has. So, for example, an atom with two protons is helium, no matter WHAT else its got. Neutrons hang out in the nucleus with protons, where they add to the weight of an atom but don't do much else. And the REASON all those electrons are buzzing around a boring nucleus instead of being off somewhere else is because all those negative charges like to be near all those positive charges. And since the electric force is so incredibly strong, you can bet that just about everything you run into is going to have as close to a zero total charge as it can get.

So there you have it. Atoms in a nutshell. Hope that helps!

The smallest particle of an element that displaces all the properties of that element is called as an atom
the word 'atomos' means indivisible.
they are measured in 'angstroms'.
1 Angstrom = 1\10000000 cm. symbol=A to the power of 0
all the elements are made up of atoms.
all the atoms of an element have similar physical and chemical prperies.
atoms can neither be created nor destroyed.
atoms of one element cannot be converted into atoms of another element.
they are made up of:
1. protons
2.electrons
3.neutrons
JJ thomson's model of an atom
1.He proposed that atom is a uniform sphere of +charges with electrons embedded on it.
2.AN ATOM IS ELECTRICALLY NEUTRAL AS THE AMOUNT OF +charges = to the amount of -charges.
Conclusions of rutherfords alpha particle scattering e experiment.
1. Most of the space in the atom is empty.
2. a = vely charged nucleus is present in the centre of the atom.
3.the nucleus is hard, dense and occupies very little space.
number of protons present in the atom is the atomic no of the element.
symbol is - Z
THE SUM OF NO OF PROYONS AND NEUTRONS PRESENT IN THE NUCLEUS OF AN ATOM IS THE ATOMIC MASS OF AN ATOM.
symbol is - A

Atoms are made up of 3 types of particles electrons , protons and neutrons . These particles have different properties. Electrons are tiny, very light particles that have a negative electrical charge (-). Protons are much larger and heavier than electrons and have the opposite charge, protons have a positive charge. Neutrons are large and heavy like protons, however neutrons have no electrical charge. Each atom is made up of a combination of these particles. Let's look at one type of atom:

You anticipate that the persons placed in disadvantageous rooms haven't any earlier understand-how of the examined cloth, and the persons contained in the "proper" rooms will locate the right solutions. Making the parallel to existence and the situations human beings are born into, i do no longer agree that someone's faith is determined with the aid of his so-called privelleges. Do you anticipate that to love God you need to be born right into a particular type? Are prosperous those who're raised in a loving relatives and bypass to harvard and change right into a criminal specialist and stay in a mansion with a lamborghini the suited applicants for Heaven? perhaps this guy change into even raised with the aid of a Christian relatives yet his successes brought some self-based faith in himself instead of his author. What about the poor guy who lives with no longer something and yet provides his maximum excellent attributable to God? the theory for "the Christian's God gadget" isn't in what you own. Possessions interior the style of fabrics, economic, repute, honor, prestige and different "privelleges" are all misconstrued because the epitomes of a reliable existence. If a guy has each one of those factors yet has forsaken God, then on the scales of His judgement the impoverished guy lead a extra efficient existence in leaving behind all which the criminal specialist prized, and embracing that which the criminal specialist rejected.
