I saw a movie years ago where this bloke wakes up and everyone has dissapeered in the whole world, he walks about and eventually finds other people, a black bloke and a fit bird! Thats all i can remember, but a really good movie. It must have been made in the 80's i think. Anyone got any ideas?

Plot Summary for
The Quiet Earth (1985)
A man wakes up to find himself literally alone in the world, and goes about trying to find other survivors, as well as to find out what happened. He suspects that a government research project he was involved in had something to do with the disappearance of everyone. Well you already have the answer from previous people but may I recommend a couple others? First there is "Where have all the people gone" made for tv in the 70's I think it starred Peter Graves. also, check out "Night of the Comet" from the 80's dunno who starred in it probably a bunch of no-namers but it was still an enjoyable flick.

I am so glad you asked this question, i watched this film years ago and could never remember what it was called.
I thought the film was fantastic and wanted to buy the book but without a name it was hard to find
