I think ornery ornithologists probably give each other the bird quite frequently. After all, they egg each other on. If they don't know what they are doing, they just wing it. Why? Just beak-claws. Nest question?

No they don't. You have to understand that is a very close knit and competitive group. A group that will jump into a pecking party at the drop of a corn kernel.

Can you imagine a Spotted Owl supporter trading a bird with Wren worshiper. Perish the thought. Feathers would fly.

No, science and avian compassion are left at the cage when it comes to sharing. Or giving, if you will.

Do they watch Ornography? Is that why they call them Blue Jays? Blue-footed Boobies? Blue birds? Titmouse? Hmm, there's bears looking into. I would hate to be the one to have to pick up a Bird watcher for having questionable content on his hard drive.
