A lot of people would say C++, but it is so advanced and with many subdivisions and re-editing over the years that make it in fact one of the most difficult and advanced languages you could ever learn.

I recommen Python, because it is easy to manipulate and besides, some of the most intricate codes are in reality really easy to follow through.

There is no such thing. Some languages are better suited for some tasks than others, but that does not make it a better language. Some are more flexible but complex, some are less flexible but easy to do the tasks it was designed to do.

You really have to define "best" to do "what" before we can attempt to answer your question. Even then, you'll have to define what "best" means. Power to do the task? Simlicity? Flexibility? Self-documenting? Smallest code? Price of the compiler? Ability to run in small and weak system? Ability to manage large number of users? Amount of data?

My personal favorite is assembly and cobol, but that's because I'm most used to those two. C and C++ is a great language, but it has a weakness in being complex and highly symbolic. It also let you make mistakes that will only be discovered at run-time (and cause a fatal error/core dump)

Religion, probably Scientology.
They have their own language which they use for programming

Otherwise, Binary is perfect, since it is very black and white.

I always hear glorifying tales of C++

Someday will have something so far supieror to what we have now, your question will be meaningless as all programming languages will have heavy merger capablities.

for windows yea I would go with a c# or vb.net vb.net is easier then c# but c# has more of the lower level work that needs to be done with certain computers. if you are going to another plateform I would say C++ just cause its been around for so long. I like java for all around work but the programs run too slow because of the virtual byte machine..

That would depend on your focus. Over all I like python and would recommend it to kids but for pro work nothing beats c sharp.
