Is it wrong to think my mom is cheating on my dad? My half-bro has shown me two incriminating text messages on her phone from numbers i don't know. They contain some explicit language. I WILL NOT TALK TO HER ABOUT IT!! But wondering should I assume the worst?

First, WHy is everyone accusing me of snooping. I didn't want to see it. My brother says, "Look at this" I read it and see stuff. This has happened twice in the past year.

It is always better to think on the positive side. Dont automatically accuse your mom but on the other hand dont necessarily block out the negetive. There are many cases where affairs happen in a relationship but if your father does not suspect something the chances are yuo shouldnt either. The person who is getting cheated on is usually the 1st person to feel like something is wrong. If your dad seems comfortable with the relationship then i see no reason to worry but if there is a scense of unsureness then i would confront both parents and tell them how you feel. It isnt fair stressing yourself out over this.

You shouldn't have snooped. And you can't assume anything. Forget what you saw if you don't intend to confront her and get the real story.
Or, I hate that I am even suggesting this but...if you are nearly 100% certain she is cheating, you can suggest to your Pop that he look at the text messages and investigate for himself. Like I said though, only if you are 100% sure.

If that was my mom, I'd talk to her. Why? Because I feel that it is something I should know. The conversation would be a discussion not a blame game though. I'd express my concern and see what she has to say. Whatever she says, try to respect that. Also, I'd not tell my dad about it, not even a hint because I feel that in this kind of situation, it's something for only her and the dad to talk it out.
Also, don't excuse her of anything.

I am wondering why you and your brother are reading your mom's personal messages? Why don't you just ask your mom what is going on because of what you came across. You will not feel better until you know the truth.

I'd ask her...my hubby has some text stuff come in similar...I got all upset--then I got some too...vulgar talk etc. I think somehow these sights get your phone number, or just punch a number in...and send the messages trying to get business...usually xrated websites. ask your mom...maybe it's just one of those things. if not...then tell your dad to ask her. dont feel bad...i'd be curious too.

they might not even be meant for her. I once found a text message on my phone from someone I did not know. It was a wrong number.

I think its okay to assume the worst as long as you do not act apoun it. I dont know your mom but weather she is or not... just dont do anything you think you would regret.

I'd agree, cheating is bad. You should talk to her about it. Your dad deserves to know if that's the case but you have to confront her first.
