i guess if there is no emotional attachment then i wouldn't call it cheating. if its clear to both parties that it ain't gonna work then its not cheating. just because she lives with him doesn't mean he owns her and she cant move on.he's kinda forcing her to be with him and that is wrong.maybe one of them should leave the premises. at the end of the day its inevitable.

Its Never right to cheat on the one you've married.
At the wedding your parents promised each other "to love & to cherish, till death do they part"...sadly most couples dont keep this vow, and cheat or divorce. Your mom and her husband need to work things out between eachother. Your mom, shouldnt give up so easy and cheat on him. That will only cause more grief and strife between the two. There are marriage counsilors that can help your parents work this out. Its hard as the child to watch such, anger and unhappy feelings between, what should be love and happiness. I feel for you. Try to encourage your parents as much as possible. If your mom ever asks your advice, be honest, and dont make her feel that cheating would be fine, since everything is going bad anyway. The guy must love your mom, being he doesnt want to sign the Divorce papers.

Whether he signs the papers or not, she should still seek a divorce. Cheating is never a good thing, and besides, wouldn't your mom be happier being free to find a healthy relationship with someone who will treat her better?

If a person has never been in her shoes then you are not going to get a honest answer or an answer from someone that has never tried it.
I know that a person should not cheat, but sometimes they are forced to do it or go insane. If my wife asks for a divorce, I would say go for it, because that means that she no longer loves me.
Good luck to you and your mother.
Remember, you are going to get several different answers from mine, but I have been there and done that. It is not funny to be in that situation.

No, married people should never cheat no matter what. Wait until a divorce. Why do you think people are filing for so many divorces anyway? Cheaters and liars should be burned at the stake.

No, I think cheating is wrong. She needs to file the divorce papers herself and get it done.

I feel that your mom and her husband should discuss the issue and get each other point of view. Is not wrong for her to find someone else after the talk.
