I think the Cubs will win this year, they have Alfonso Soriano
now and he is an awsome batter! Zambrano, Hill, and Cotts are excellent pitchers and i cant wait to see what other new pitchers and players Jim Hendry will try to get! Also cant wait to see what Lou Piniella will do as coach!

GO CUBS!!!!!

The starting pitching is still in question. Other than Zambrano and Hill nobody is certain who will fill the other slots. Cotts is a lefty specialist, Wood is going to the bullpen, and Prior well who knows if Prior is going to be healthy. Wade Miller is a possibility but he is coming off an injury. As for the offense I hope Soriano doesn't bat lead off and play center field. And I hope they can sign Zito or Schimdt. We'll just have to see...

Quiet Frankly i dont like the Chicago Cubs im from the Southside of Chicago i root for The "Chicago White Sox" Cubs have a long drought and they are determined to win especially when they picked up Alfonso Soriano of the Washington Nationals and Mark DeRosa of the Rangers and Neal Cotts of the Chicago White Sox........................................(Cubs Arent gonna win lets just keep the drought running :D)

Nope, all offense and no pitching. 1 quality starter isn't gonna cut it. Look to the southside last year, all offense, sporatic pitching. You'll contend in the offensive categories this year (if everyone stays healthy) but the wins and losses are all that count. I predict about 75 wins but not enough for a playoff spot.

I don't know about this year, but it's going to be fun to see how good they get in the next couple of years. I think they'll make the playoffs this year, but wont go to the world series. Give them a couple of years. Now that a front office is letting Lou what he wants, look out! Good things are going to be coming for the Cubs!

The Cubs had an outstanding 12 months. Lou should be manager of the 12 months for taking a gaggle of spoiled brats to a branch identify. they're going to be extra valuable next 12 months and it wont take him till June next 12 months to freshen up the dirt interior the locker room.

I dont think its the year of the cubbies .... yall just added one impact player ..alfonso soriano... the astros and the cardinals have taken a step and have gotten better... theres noo way the cubbies can compete with that ...i do think the cubs will have a better record than last year and finish in 3rd place.. and win the wild card if the astros are not in the wild card picture .....!!! but good luck!!!

If the Cubs can finally break the curse...maybe they should allow goats into Wrigley Field...lol. The person above is right. 2007 belongs to the Cardinals. The Cards are gonna win it all again.

Probably not, although in a weak division and a weak NL there's a chance. As a Cubs fan you have to stay pessimistic until they show you something then stay pessimistic until the playoffs. I'm rooting for them but they gotta show me something.
