1. How old are you? 25

2. What is your race/nationality? 1/2 Mexican 1/2 White

3. Are you male/female? Male

4. Have you ever dated outside of your own race? Always (hard to find a half and half like me)

5. If yes, What was the experience like? Depends on who it was, when I dated a black girl it was kind of hard because I got a lot of crap from the Black comunity. (people yelling jungle fevor, giving dirty looks, etc.)

6.Do you believe that interracial relationships can be used to measure racial tolerance? Please explain your answer... Yes I do, I have dated white girls, black girls, persian, and mexican, and my current girl is Asian. I notice that certain relationships are more excepted by people than others. For instance when I dated the persian girl (right after 9/11) we got a lot of crap, and I got a lot of crap when I dated the black girl. But with any of the other girls it's been pretty normal.

7. Do you believe that people in interracial relationships face challenges and barriers that the same race relationships are not exposed to? explain your answer.... Yes I do. For one thing the kids have a problem fitting in. For instance I am mix but I don't fit with Mexicans because they don't see me as being mexican and I dont fit with whites because they dont see me as white. People in the world are ignorant, they will hate and be mean just because they don't approve.

8. How do you think interracial coples can overcome these given barries? It's all love, my parents have be together for 32 years and my girlfriend and I have been together for 2 (soon to be engaged) I could care less what anyone else thinks. I love her and that is all that matters. You can't change the way people feel about your situation all you can do is not let it affect your own decisions. For instance I am not going to stop dating my girl just beacuse someone does not approve. I will not limit my life.

9. Do you believe that interracial relationships can work? Yes like I said my parents have been together for 32 years

10. what are your peronal views on interracial dating?
I say we all start having sex with everyone so we all end up the same color. But to be seriouse, love is love no matter what color it comes in.

11. do your family/friends agree with intteracial relationships?
Depends on the race mix.
12. what do you think about gay interracial couples?
The first question should be what do you think about gay couples, well 7 years ago I would be against it. But now I can tolerate it and even accept a couple. Recently one of my best friends came out and he now has a partner (he is asian his partner is white) and I happy that my friend can now be totaly open about who he is as well as he now can be with someone he loves. Tolerance is learned not something you are born with. It starts with the parents and the comunity.

Hope that helps sorry for any spelling errors.

1) I'm eighteen.
2) I'm white/American
3)Female
4)Yes I have. I currently am.
5)My relationship with my boyfriend (I'm white:He's black) is great. Best relationship I've ever had. But, I don't think it's due to his race.... rather his personality and looks.
6) Yes and No. For some people, they do not date or marry outside of their race because they have not accepted that race or has something against that race (or every race). Some people, they just prefer certain races... just like some people women prefer tall men and some men prefer blondes. It could simply be what they find attractive.
7) For the most part no. Most problems aren't caused by race, but instead are just those common disagreements/problems/fights that most couples experience. In some cases, they might face racist people, but if they are okay with each other and find it comfortable and secure.... then it shouldn't matter. Most people in our society today (especially younger people) are more excepting of other races and cultures. It's the older generations you have to worry about.
8) Simply not care what those few racist people think. It's about the two of them..... not everyone else.
9) YES, YES, AND YES.
10) I see it like this:
I don't see why people make such a fuss about it (for those that are against it). Being black or white or brown or whatever is the same as having blue eyes or brown eyes or green eyes or grey eyes. It just depends on genetics and where you came from. I has nothing to do with who the person is; it doesn't form them! I mean, you don't see people making a big deal about couples, or even people, with different eye colors.... so why do they do it with people of differet skin tones?!?!
11) Most of them. My parents raised me to believe that color doesn't matter. My friends share my same views. I have a few family members (ex: my great grandmother, my great aunt, etc.) who are older and were raised in that time period where they were segregated and were taught that race did matter. But, they know better than to bring it up.
12) I personally do not agree with gay relationships at all and so their race doesn't matter to me. Especially since I believe color doesn't matter. But.... their sex does.

*My parents divorced when I was young (they were both white) and my Dad eventually remarried. He married a black woman. And, I have five brothers and sisters (from my Dad and stepmother). And, you know what? MY parents get along, my Mom and stepmother get along, my whole (everyone) gets along, etc. My brother and sisters are fine. They are like any other children. THey color doesn't matter. And the fact that they are biracial, or mixed, doesn't matter to them. It doesn't make them feel wierd or different. And, my stepmom is not a certain way because she is black. She's a woman. Any woman of any race, or any man of any race, is simply a man or a woman.

Race means nothing.... it only means as much as people let it mean. And, like the guy below me said: "love is love no matter what color it comes in."

In 2006 in America.... we should not have these racial differences.

Hope this helps!
Good luck!

48,white,female,yes,he was Hispanic and I was madly in love but his parents were old fashioned and chose his bride--I wasn't it. I NEVER quit loving him.
No because it isn't an accurate measure--it's only more people becoming open not more tolerance. White supremacists are multiplying with great numbers.
They definitely face more challenges. My daughter was married to an African American and some places they went, they couldn't even get waited on. A gas station in Texas wouldn't turn the pump on for them to get gas.
True Love overcomes ALL. When you really love someone-no-one else's opinions matter.
I know they can as I have seen many couples that overcame great barriers.
I have taught my children that what is on the outside doesn't matter--it is only what is on the inside. I know a great deal of white men that are horrible people and I would never want one of my girls married to. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, therefore whats next-Good looking girls can't marry ugly guys or vica versa? Don't think so.
My father was the original Archie Bunker. He was the biggest bigot I ever knew--I think that's why I am NOT. My husband isn't as bad as my father was but he has his own problems with the situation.
TO EACH HIS OWN--Every person has to live their life as they see fit. Each has to answer to god in his own way. Thou shalt not judge less thee be judged. It's not my place.

Yay, as long because it particularly is for the splendid reason. There are some human beings (gay and right this moment) who do the biracial factor just to coach how tolerant and funky they are. i'd desire which you do no longer fall in this classification. BTW do no longer problem approximately hell. it particularly is reserved for lots extra severe "offenses".
