Probably becasue ther are a lot of lies out there about what average and normal sizes are and they think then that God or natuire has been unkind to them. They do not realize that GOd gave them greast equiptment but hey need to show him they appreciate it by using it wisely in a godly way.
Read my other answers and se why it is worthwhile to be abd remain a virgin. BOth for men and gals. You were born a virgin. It is the mnost valuyabvle thing you have you shoud keep it for that person who was created especialy for you.
instead of worrying about penis size becasue YOur penis will fit well into the wife GOd made for you. So worry about getting that perosnl THe best wya to do that is to work hard to prepare yourself so you can be the best possbile mate to that person and treat then in a way that will make them happy that God made you to be their mate.

Size is rarely the issue...its what and how you do with it. Its sad that some "men" think that size of the male member is the ego strength they need. I think the only measuring tape that should be used is the satisfaction index from their partner.
