for sex offenders i think its ok, but way back when during the 20's the "progressives" crowd got a bunch of laws passed, making "undesirables" sterile. the founder of planned parenthood, margeret sanger was behind it. she was a eugenicist and didnt believe blacks, jews, mental defectives and christians shouldnt be allowed to procreate (which is why the first planned parenthood was in harlem, staffed by african american personnel, so people wouldnt think that white people were trying kill all the black babies, but this is off the subject here). so they went around first to the mental asylums force sterilizing people. one woman tried to not have the surgery, but the progressives got a judge to force it, because they didnt want the state to have to take care of children of "undesirables", the court won and she was sterilized because a baby she already had "looked peculiar" according to a doctor they got to examine an infant. so, sterility laws run amok by "forward thinking progressives" can put a damper on peoples liberties, just make sure its the right people getting sterilized.the eugenics movement got very popular in nazi germany, in fact, sanger went there alot in the 30's to see how their program was running, it was a very scary time. and she wanted to bring that back to america.
