phone the network provider and ask them to release the phone from their network.

Will she be using the phone on the same service provider? If so, you don't need to get the phone unlocked. The subsidy lock only prevents you from using SIM cards from OTHER carriers in the phone.

If you have the USB cable for your phone, there is software you can download which will unlock your phone for free. Follow this link which will take you to a forum where someone has posted the file you need. You must register (for free) with the site in order to download it.

Take it to a small mobile shop that sells parts or a market stall ,they will unlock it to use on any network for £10.

if u know the unlock code unlock it but if u wanna change it go to settings them security but if it's just locked call the carrier or phone provider.

Sometimes it's the last four digits of the phone number... not sure though.
