I think this is a question best suited to your doctor. He/she can run tests on you and your husband and see if there is a reason. It could be an easy fix.

It could be your period is erratic and your ovulation is at different times.. Try the book Understanding Your Fertility. It gives you very good resources to help you understand when you are most fertile and how to know when that time is. My husband and I had tried for almost 18 months with no success. I tried the book and found out that I ovulate about 6 days before my period not 14! I now have two children. You might also want to consult with your ob?gyn or a fertility specialist

If you've been having regular sex (2-3 times per week or more) unprotected for two years, it does seem like you two might have lower fertility. An irregular period means that you are not ovulating regularly, and you do need to ovulate (and have sex around the time of ovulation) in order to get pregnant. While this isn't necessarily going to stop you from getting pregnant, it might make it a more difficult process.
If you want to get pregnant, I suggest you start charting (link below) and call up your doctor. Both of you should get checked out, since not conceiving is almost as likely to be due to male factors.

An "erratic" period could be a sign that you are not ovulating. There are several reasons for this and your doctor will able to perform some blood tests to check your hormones and see if there is something funny going on. It could be as simple as regulating your hormones and it's worthwhile to go in and find out.

This sounds like an excellent question for your doctor. There are such a multitude of reasons people have fertility problems. It could be you OR him.
But yeah, your erratic period may have something to do with it. If nothing else, sometimes that's an indicator that something else is wrong.

We are going through the same process. We decided recently to begin Clomid. It is our first round and I am having symptoms that I may be pregnant. But it is recommended to make sure it is right for you. Not being pregnant may not be you, but your husband. Or it could be a combination of both. You should have a semen analysis and then see your doctor for what steps you need to take. Don't give up hope.

I dont' think your period has anything to do with it your best bet would be to talk to a doctor.. I don't know if this will help but i had a friend who had the same problem (unable to conceive) and then she went to the doctor the doctor did something or another and within a month she got pregnant

It all have to do with ovulation! Maybe you should go to the doctor and check to see if your husband has low sperm cells. Also see and gynecologist to find out your ovulation days since your cycle is so erratic!

Have you been to the doctor, both of you, he may have a low sperm count, not necessarily your problem. I suggest that you both go to have tests, at least then you'll know one way or another and can choose what to do. Best of luck, and in meantime keep enjoying the sex ;)
