I'm on the generic version of it and I like it......it's low estrogen, which is considered more safe, especially if you're older, have any blood pressure problems, or smoke.....you do have to be really careful not to take one late or skip one, or you can get break-through bleeding and it may become less effective....I've always taken mine on time and have had no break-through bleeding though.....although I did start getting cramps a couple of times on my last week of active pills....

I heard something mentioned on the news about alesse having packaging problems right now, and that it may be hard to get for the next few months....they said to get the generic.....I think it's called aviane.....in the mean time

I have been taking Aviane, the generic of Alesse, for six years now (I started with the Alesse).

It's considered safe because it is a low dose pill. My periods became lighter and I didn't have much pain nor problems (it's like I forgot I am on my period) after I had been taking it over a year.

Some women experience nausea when taking it. I had this the first six months after I started it. I took my pills with milk and this helped to get rid of the nausea. This side effect wears off eventually.

I highly recommend Alesse.

I've been on Alesse 28 for a little over a year and I LOVE IT! My periods are the epitome of perfection; no cramps, no bloating, no bitchiness, no nothing!. They last a little more than 3 days, which is nothing compared to the 8 days they were before I went on the pill. I've never had any complications with this particular brand of pill and I don't feel the need to switch at any point.

I used it a long time ago. It wasn't bad. I don't like to take the pills because they make me nauseas. I also can't remember to take the pill everyday. I use Nuvaring. It really isn't that bad and I don't have to remember to take a pill. Anyways, I hope this helps!
