contacts are great! I love mine, tho, i need to take them out everynight. I never do though, lol. It takes some practice to get use to putting them in and taking them out but once you get the hang out it you get use to it. The only pain is taking them out at night and putting them back in in the morning. You could tell your mom that you would really like to have contacts because you're tired of your glasses. The worse she can really do is say no. The best is she gets you contacts. You never know unless you try. Good luck!

If you ask your mother, explaining that you dislike the way they look and/or feel, I can't imagine she wouldn't at least consider it unless you don't have a lot of money. Keep in mind that while you might like the look/feel of contact lenses better, they're also much higher maintenance than glasses. Even doing the maintenance with an all-in-one solution gets to be a bit of a chore once you're doing it every day. They also get kind of costly. That solution isn't cheap, considering it's basically just salt water. Plus if you lose one, it can be pretty expensive to replace, unless you get disposable contacts.

I am 16 years old and wore glasses (when i needed too) since 8th grade. I got contacts a week ago. The eye docters these days are very good. My contacts don't bother me. I am getting good at putting them in and out.
I HIGHLY SUGGEST CONTACTS
its almost breathless seeing perfectly all the time without having to put your glasses off and on

If you want them, when you are due for your yearly eye exam, tell your mom that you would like to check into contacts. She needs to know before making the appointment because they do a contact lense exam and not just your regular exam. If you get them, be sure to follow the instructions of your doctor. If you don't you can really hurt your eyes.

I do that too. I feel uncomfortable when I notice someone is staring at me. I don't want someone to think I'm staring at them. They are probably a bit shy too. Most girls like it when guys make eye contact, especially if the guy is cute! But don't expect everyone to hold your gaze. Not everyone can do that - doesn't mean they aren't attracted to you. I would try and initiate some conversation if you are interested in someone.

i first got contacts when i was 14. i felt very self conscious at school wearing glasses but i actually love glasses now, they are such great accessories. i do alternate now between glasses and contacts.
Asda opticians do some great value contacts for daily wear that you pay for when you want them not monthly so your mom might be more inclined to agree to it.
contacts are great for sports so you could use that as your starting point.
openly discuss it with your mom ask her if you could speak to your optician about it, but they might ask you to wait.
hope that was helpful!!

I got my glasses in 3rd grade, and I liked them for awhile, but after awhile I satred hating them, so in 6th grade I got contacts! I love them! They are way better! So if you think you want them, just go up to your mom and tell her. Just tell her that you don't like your glasses, and you think contacts would be better!

Contacts can give you a eye infection or it can be worse...blindness. If you dont clean contacts properly bacteria can get on them and make you go blind. Besides you're too young to have them wait until you're 14 or 15.
