I am the most proud and blissful mommy of 2 gorgeous boys. They are 5 and 16 months and the absolute loves of my life! Building forts with blankets, creating obstacle courses for Matchbox cars, watching your son master the art of TaeKwonDo, and receiving hugs, kisses, and "I love yous" from a little boy who loves his mommy more than anyone else in the world is just as rewarding as the things you think you'll miss. Believe me, when you hold your little boy NOTHING will feel as right and you won't miss the bows. Enjoy this gift.

Honey don't worry. I'm a single mom and had a girl then the second time it was a boy. I was so worried about being able to relate to him because it had always been just me and my daughter. As soon as he was born all my fear melted away and I fell in love with the most handsome boy I had ever seen. I am lucky enough to have met a wonderful man (who comes in second to my son as most handsome :) that has been a father to my son since he was 7 months old. That has helped a lot and I plan on recruiting him teach my son to stand when using the potty :) I think that once the baby is born you'll feel different. Raising a boy may not come natural but you'll learn and you'll be OK. Take Care and Good Luck!

You need to stop being so depressed and be happy that you are pregnant and pray that your unborn child will be healthy. I had a little girl in my first pregnancy and then my second i had a boy. I wanted another little girl at the time in my second pregnancy.I ended up having my son Ethan. He is the most cutest sweetest little man. I do not regret have a boy the second time. To let you know personally from having a boy and a girl I want to have another little boy. One little girls are so whinny and they dont like to be cuddled with. Boys now they love to be cuddle with . You need to stop right now and be happy with what you have. Think about all the women that are trying to have a baby and they cant.

You will love a boy child just as much as a girl child.
Who knows you could have gotten a girl that would rather climb trees then do tea parties. Try not to heap too many expectations on an unborn child and remember that each one is a blessing.

Your child is going to be his or her own person regardless. Just having a girl does not guarantee that she will be interested in dresses, dolls etc. Some girls are tomboys. It sounds to me like you are more interested in a friend, or play toy than a child. Your baby is going to be his own person, with his own wonderful qualities and talents and gifts. You relate to your husband don't you? Plus it will be a while before baby is playing with anything, and you will likely have already bonded at that point through the birth and caregiving. Good luck.

Hmm. You dont say whether this child is born yet...
From my experience. My daughters, yes, they are little girls and we have loads in common and had lots of fun when they were little, and have a special bond of understanding and communication now they are older.
Now, my boy. My boy. He is my delight and thrill!! He is SO different to the girls, to me. He is endlessly fascinating. I learnt that boys are boys right from the start. THEY REALLY ARE DIFFERENT. They dont just get that way. They arent just stubborn. They are different, and fascinating, and tender and loving and oh, so many things. My boy is 4 now and my heart is breaking that he is getting so big and independant.
Let him love you dear and love him. He will still want to play and even have a tea party now and then.
He will teach you so many things. And you will still love to dress him up fine and do his hair and you will think he is so gorgeous you will swoon.

Are you serious, this child was given to you as a gift from god. Who cares if you don't like football your job as a parent is to raise this child in a home filled with love and happiness, teaching this child to walk the path that god has chosen for him. He will become his own person and who knows he may not like football either. I don't understand how you couldn't love someone that is your flesh and blood. Maybe you should think before you have anymore children, you will never be guaranteed to have that girl you dream so much about.

You have no idea how special a little boy is. Boys love their mommy's so much! Girls have more attitude and don't want to give their mom's hugs and kisses as much. I have a 4 year old little boy who is my world and I am his and another little boy on the way...I can't wait! I too dreamt of having a little girl with cute little pink bows and dolls, etc, but I am blessed to have the precious angels that I have!

Because its your child. I am sure you didnt get pregnant just becasue you wanted a girl, and a boy wouldnt do. I bet you got pregnant because you wanted a child, to love and nurture and raise. Although you had your heart set on a girl, and doing all those things with her, just imagine what you will be able to learn with your little boy. Seems like a good relationship to me, you will both be going through life learning so much from each other.
Good luck with your little boy. I know you will love him.

I felt the same way. I always wanted girls because I was a girl and I would understand them. I got one of each, my daughter and I fought and she was so strong willed and all we did was butt heads. But my son was such an easy child to raise and I really enjoyed the things he did like Little League and swimming, don't worry, you will learn to love him more than you could ever imagine. It will be OK, really. Boys are great.
