I have a 2001 ford focus with 76k on it. I just had the water pump, gaskets and valve gasket replaced because I was leaking coolant. Now it only leaks collant when I turn the heat on. A friend told me this could be a heater core problem, is this true? I live in the Chicagot so it's getting cold. Is this something I need to get fixed right away or can it wait for a month or so?

The leak is coming from infront of the passenger tire, will this still effect the interior of my car? Could it just be a hose?

Sounds like heater core, it will leak onto passenger front floor and will get worse and worse. You will need full coolant level to have heat this winter. Good Luck.

It sounds like it's just the heater hose. Just get the car hot and look for the leak. Don't put it off. If the system can't maintain pressure, you can be looking at some serious grief.
Why would you replace a valve gasket for a coolant leak?

Yes, your friend is right, Its the heater core. If not fixed, will leak bad enough to get coolant everywhere on the inside of your car too. Good luck.
