Try a flat teaspoon of baking soda mixed with about a half-cup of warm water.
And try not to puke. It always works for me but a friend of mine tried it once and chucked all over her shoes. Naturally, she blamed me.....

YES!! Simply eat a piece of raw celery. Super cheap, no side effects, works like a dream! Celery is very alkaline and eliminates heartburn. Ever notice it is served with hot chicken wings? It neutralizes the spice. I have told dozens of people about it and they all agree after trying it. There are a few articles on the Web if you look around.

1 tsp. of vinegar usually does the trick. If that doesn't work, try a tums. I would suggest staying away from things like the "purple pill" and other prescription antacids. These will only train the acid pumps in your stomach to act erratically, hence making your condition worse over time. In all reality, it's best to identify foods that cause heartburn and try to avoid eating them. This will surely solve the problem. Good Luck! Ciao!

Ice cream. I know it sounds totally crazy, but I'm on my second pregnancy and when my stomach is pushed up so close to my mouth, I get heartburn ALL the time. I keep a bottle of Tums around but I don't know why I bother. Just a small little cup of ice cream does the trick and I feel sooooo much better.
Seriously, just try it. It's the only thing I've found that worked. Once I was out of ice cream so I tried a little chocolate milk....not as good, but okay. And yogurt doesn't do it either, maybe something about being cultured.
Give plain vanilla a try. Good luck!

The reason milk and ice cream will get rid of heart burn is because they contain calcium. (So does tums.) If you take a calcium supplement when you get heart burn, your heart burn will go away. (I've never tried baking soda but it doesn't sound like it tastes to good.)
