There are many books written about many different eras and subjects. Go to Amazon.com and select books - genre fiction - historical. Here is the link if it works -- http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_n_6/104-3642269-7803927?ie=UTF8&rh=n%3A1000%2Cn%3A17%2Cn%3A10134%2Cn%3A10177&page=1

This isn't specifically historical fiction, but it's close enough. Jack Whyte's 'Dream of Eagles' series is really good, especially if you're into Roman battle tactics and stuff. Whyte used to be a history professor, so it's pretty accurate stuff.

Also, if you're into vikings, 'Eaters of the Dead' by Michael Crichton is quite good. It's based off some legend/documents. There's also a movie based off of it called 'The Thirteenth Warrior' with Antonio Banderez in it (yes... and he's Arab... woah).
