After asking many questions on this site, many people respond with: Drugs are illegal, therefore they are bad. If they are bad, people who do them are bad. Hence, lets put drug users in jail with the rest of the bad people.

If you oppose drug use simply because it is "illegal" then you support slavery. After all, failing to return a runaway slave in early America was illegal. If you were alive during alcohol prohibition, would you stop drinking because it's illegal?
Anyone who says that drugs are bad and has no justification or facts to back it up, and just exclaims that they are illegal should go back to school. Learn to THINK.

Or people will say that drugs are bad for you, so they should be illegal. So to these people, stop watching TV, driving cars, drinking booze, and eating any food other than rice and beans. Or you are a hypocrite.

Or you might say they're addictive, and drug laws stop addiction. Wrong. Try imposing your morality on Muslims, they'll kill you.

So why do you people continue to clamor for prohibiting the most basic of freedoms - Cognitive Liberty - just because you have never done drugs. Whether because they are illegal, addictive, unhealthy or whatever, what gives you the right to control my consciousness.

Believe it or not, most drug users lead normal, productive lives as pillars of their communities or normal people. You cannot tell an opiate user or stoner from another person unless they let the drug control them.

Is it to "save the children"? Try taxing and regulating, like alcohol. How many kids can go into a store and buy a fifth of vodka? Not many. Drug dealers don't ID.

So save the children, protect our liberties, and enrich our lives. Put an end to this silly crusade, and STOP PUSHING YOUR MORALITY ON EVERYONE ELSE!!!!!

David, crack babies are a proven myth. They don't exist. If you used your brain and Google (two fantastic tools) you would know this.
CRACK BABIES ARE A MYTH!!!

Drugs are wrong not because they are illegal or bad for you they are bad because it shows one you have no respect for yourself because you want to ruin your judgment and do stupid things, such and rape and drive yourself into a ditch killing your best friend, that will only hurt you in the end, and because they have no productive use drugs should be banned, TV can inform and other foods other than beans and rice are need in a good diet, cars are need to keep up with our life's and get places to learn other things like how to function in society. What if the entire world decide every weekend to get drunk and high, we would all decide it's just to hard to get up and go to work and easier to just to stay high and drunk

The social costs of excessive drug and alcohol use are staggering. Car accidents, domestic violence, robberies and other violent crimes are only some of the results of these problems. Crack destroys the maternal bond. Have you ever taken care of a baby born addicted to cocaine? It is not a pretty sight. Now, I do agree that what an adult does in private is his or her business. Perhaps legalization of some drugs might reduce this problem. I am not sure. What I do know is that the over use of drugs is a terrible problem for our world and the toll in human suffering is great. Take a look at the study linked below for an economic analysis.

When people use drugs...they take themselves out of control.
If a person is not in control of themselves then they do not know what they would do. (People on drugs do stupid things like committing crimes and getting into or causing accidents)

More accidents and crimes occur when people are using drugs.

Why should INNOCENT people be put at risk for no reason?
*The innocent have a Right to Safety!!!

People have freedoms...as long as what they are doing does not infringe on anyone else BUT people using illegal drugs put other people in danger!!!

As far as freedom goes....."My right to swing my fist ends where your nose begins. "

Personally I would like to see a real War on Drugs instead of this "So Called War on Drugs".

I have only just scratched the surface on the personal level...There is much more to be said concerning the damaging effects of illegal drugs on Society. There are also financial considerations to be taken into account on how it is damaging the world (Why are they raising opium in Afghanistan instead of food?) Also and most importantly is the Spiritual devastation that illegal drugs cause.

Trick question... I DON'T support the war on drugs! You almost got me with that one! The war on drugs is a war on the American people (well, all people really).
