I just found out, america has one of the highest poverty rates (for a MEDC). Im shocked, americans tend to brag about all the freedom and stuff but no one speask of the poor, its covered up by the media and the goverment, thats discraseful, i mean there is poverty everywhere, but america has worse WORSE!!!! Staving children? People living without water? Hurricane Katrina highlighted the poverty, some people COULDN'T EVEN LEAVE because they were so poor. Theres no excuse, USA is run by very rich people, my guess is that they want to keep it like that - and dont care for the poor!!

Well I suppose it is good to have your eyes open.. Rich people have never cared about poor people and yes of course they want to stay rich and keep poor people below them, it has been this way since the dawn of time. We don't have royals anymore, we just have the ownership class instead. The world is a very big and crazy place sometimes and none of it fits on a 30 second sound bite. And any freakin idiot that thinks poor people are lazy are freakin uneducated and misinformed. Where do you get your facts, Fox News? If you think it is easier to work two jobs just to pay rent and basics then sit at a freakin desk all day long then you don't have a clue what the world is really like.

Yes i am very much aware of poverty in the U.S. some of the most poor people are not just minorities ,but they are the very same people that have been to this country 1st. Native American reservations are the most poorest and unmaintained pieces of land or communities in America. The govt is responsible for taking care of them but no one cares so you're right only the rich care for the rich. That's the way it is.

There is poverty in every nation developed or otherwise. It is a fact that shall persist till the fall of man. To simply blame the wealthy is short sighted of you and irresponsible. Many factors outside of the control of government, business, and the public can affect economic strength in different areas in America. The best you can do is start a charity to help such individuals. Do not leave it to government bureaucracy. Private charities are more efficient.

I know that we have poverty in our country just as all other countries do and it is true that if our great politicians worried as much about our country as they have worried about others we could prevent most of our poverty, however we are fortunate to be the greatest country in the world and if you or anyone else do not like this country, they have the privilege of moving elsewhere.

Yes , we have a high rate of poverty , ITS called lazy. most people want to depend on well fare and food stamps to get by, and lets not forget all the illegals we have to pay for. Deport the whole bunch , for every job they have ,that's a job a American doesn't have.
