2x-4y=0 is in standard form. the same equation in slope-intercept form (y=mx+b) is y=1/2x where 1/2 is the slope (y/x or rise over run) and the y-intercept is 0 or at the point (0,0) (because there is no b). it depends what you want to do with the equation as to what form you put it in. what do you want to do with it? what do the directions say?

That's a equation, and what do you want to do with it ?

It defines a relationship between x and y and in a 2D environment that is a line.

2x-4y=0
------------ lets add 4y to both sides canceling out the -4y and the +4y
2x=4y
------------ lets divide both sides by 4: 4/4y=y and 2x/4 =x/2
y=x/2

That's a line crossing the origin (x=0, y=0) and where x=10 it's 5 high so it slopes upward not all that steep. See a graph below.

2x - 4y = 0
2x = 4y
4y = 2x
y = 1/4 (2x)
y = 1/2 x
Using y = mx + b you have y = 1/2 x + 0
This is a straight line with a slope of 1/2 (ie., for every unit it moves to the right it will rise up 1/2 unit). Since your value for "b" is zero that tells you the line willk pass through the origin (the y-intercept is 0)

Well, the first step is to choose a variable to solve for. Say you solve for x, you would add 4y to zero, and then divide by 2, giving you: x=2y. You can then rewrite the equation as 2(2y)-4y=0, and then solve for y, and repeat again to solve for x. Your solution will be written in the form of (x,y)

It's a line through the origin with a slope of 1/2. What's this "I can't" nonsense? Someone teach you to give up easy?

if 2 of "something" minus 4 of "another thing" equals zero than they must be equal (something minus itself equals zero), so 2x=4y or x=2y
