I have never met a potato I did not love. I guess my favorite is mashed with real butter. I am having them this evening for supper.

Mashed all the way. For some variety, try mashed sweet potatoes. Peel them, boil them til soft, add a tablespoon of butter, a tablespoon of maple syrup, put them in a flat pan, sprinkle brown sugar and mini marshmellows on top and bake til they turn brown. Delish!

mashed - don't spare the butter, milk (cream!), salt, or pepper.
Mash 'em. Don't whip em.
They're supposed to be luscious and yummy. Not pasty, not dry, not tasteless.
