This is a sad story... get your tissue ready.
I was about 5 years old and got a Barbi and some roller skates for Christmas. I played with the Barbie for a while and got bored. There was no where to try my rollerskates because outside was snowed over. So I decided to strap Barbie to one of the skates and send her flying across the kitchen floor. My folks saw this attempt to amuse myself as being destructive to my toys, and decided to shed some light as to the actual origin of these items, (which didn't include the Northpole, elves or Santa.) Hence my childhood fantasy of Santa came to a end.
A real tear jerker, huh?

Sadly, I never did believe in Santa, not that my parents didn't try every trick there was, but I was too smart for my own good and Santa, like The Tooth Fairy & The Easter Bunny, just weren't logical to my mind. I've grown up since then and thanks to a Scottish father and Irish Mother, I believe now, in my heart.

When I was seven, Santa brought me the "Life" board game. The age recommendations for this game were "ages 9 and up". I guess I was a little advanced for my age, but my logic was that if Santa was real, he would know how old I was and would not have brought me a game that I was too young for.

My own logic should have told me that Santa thought I was mature enough for it, but still, that was the year that Santa was gone for me.

My uncle was "sick" every christmas. He would go out to the car to get medicine, change into a santa costume and come and knock on the front door. He "missed" Santa coming every year. Also the one year it finally clicked was when I was standing behind him and "Santa" was wearing the same shirt as my uncle under his red suit.

There is a bit of Santa in each of us so he will live on eternally. My thoughts are that anyone who gives a present is a Santa.

I've always known that he (Santa) was or isn't real. He's just a person dressed up just for a holiday icon for Christmas (Just like for Easter, the Easter Bunny). I don't believe in him. I'm a Christian.

I saw my Mom eat the cookies and milk that were left for "Santa Claus". It was pretty funny. Because I guess I was like three... and started crying... but ya.

Me and my elder cousins were in the car with my dad (I was about 7) and my cousins were making fun of me and my little sister for still believing in santa. They said he wasn't real. Me and my sis were really upset and didn't believe them so we said to our dad: "dad santa IS real isn't he?" and my dad goes, "no."

what a truly traumatic day that was for me.
