I have taught a lot of childrens art and if your worried about a boat leaving the group your worrying needlessly. Having too regular and patterned of a grouping would be boring. Besides kids don't plan things out mechanically which is great. But even so with limited space sometimes things get angled. Plus you use angles to point the eye in a certain direction and some of the boats could be going around the isle in a wider circle. The iridescent effect in the sky is just great. It makes me think he or she, has a sensitive side, It reminds me of my own multicolored effects in painting and my sensitive side. I wonder what he/she would think of a painting by Barbara Geldermann Hails called solitude. For a young person its quite good. Encourage her/him and don't worry too much.

im not a professional child psychologist, but apparently it portrays ISOLATION. if the boats are not meant to be moving(since it's a painting, the boats could be immobile).
if the boats are supposed to be moving in opposite directions, the one leaving should be taken in consideration. is it the solitary one or the group? if it's the previous, then the painter proclaims independence. Either from Family & friends association, or any other aspects faced my kids that mean transition.
the sad part is if it's the latter. then the feeling of alienation is being rendered, desertion & involuntary isolation.

The child wants to do the opposite of what everyone wants him or her to do. (Hence, he or she being the boat that is going the other way.) Or he or she is more adventurous than everyone else.
OR, it's just a painting. Nothing more.

i have gone through the link u provided
as a psychologist i dont find anything vauge in it.
How old is your child now?
dont go deep into any silly topic which a child do - this is suggestion
and more over if u have any doubt dont express before child bcz child may not have that idea until than but get known when we ask them.
children now a days r more intellegent
they r catching everything in ease.
ur child may be different in thinking and going towards victory.
best of luck.

Have you tried asking the child to tell you about the painting? It could be vastly different than what our adult minds come up with. I am always surprised to hear what my daughter has to say about her paintings and drawings.

I don't think it has any subconcious meaning.
The "house, tree, person" test for children is a more reliable measure of a child's social/mental outlook than picking a random artwork & analysing components of it.
