I'm right there with you, but I don't think the series will ever return. It's a shame, but after all this time and after the events in Serenity it's better to just let it go and let Josh and the cast move on to other projects.
How wild would it be to see the exact same cast put together for a completely different show, though? Kind of like Fish Called Wanda and that Movie That Came After That But With The Same People?

I hope so! I love this show! The movie was great too! I think it really got a whole new group of people interested in watching the series.
Unfortunately the series was cancelled just before the movie came out.
C A N C E L L E D!! (sob-sniffle-sniff)
I would write the television channel and the producers of the show and ask them to consider bringing it back. If enough people ask they might do it........just look at how long the Star Trek series has been dragging on and on and on......it is no longer original no matter which color you dress the captain in. Yawn!

I've heard that the actors have signed a non-disclosure agreement for another movie. They probably won't revive the series on TV, but the movies are a great way to keep the fanbase growing. I will watch "Serenity" over anything else on TV.
The deal was that if "Serenity" made enough money on DVD, that there might be a sequel to the movie. Since it did great in sales, the probability of another movie is highly likely.

They killed off the Shepherd and Wash, so what would be the point? We will never find out what Sheperd Book really was before he became a shepherd. And now that Wash is gone the show just won't be as quippy. The show should never have been cancelled in the first place. Joss should have sold it to the Sci-Fi channel and just kept going.
F*cking Fox! F*cking Joss Whedon!
I miss Jayne....

Not in movie or tv format... Serenity just didn't make enough money at the box office.
However, I believe they are going to be doing novels for it (whether they will be considered canon or not, not sure) and Joss can always continue their adventures in comic form if he wants to as well (like he is getting ready to do with Buffy, a comic series is upcoming which will be considered "Season 8".).

Joss himself is undecided at this date per: http://www.fireflyfans.net/feature.asp?f=67. We would all like to see Joss return to TV and Firefly to return but afar as Net execs go it seems they have lost their love for drama and adventure in favor of "reality TV' and game shows. We can keep our fingers crossed and read fanfic though.

Nope. Joss killed the franchise in the film. It's done.
There was some talk about a one-off miniseries, but there's nothing solid.
