Sure Charlie Weis put ND back on the map, but it worries me after blowout losses to U-M, USC, and OSU. It worries me that ND's losing strk vs. USC is now 5 years. It worries me because ND virtually has no "D." I think CW is one of the best college football coaches in the nation, but I noticed ND hasn't won any big games lately (excluding last years USC "TECHNICALITY"), but I have noticed ND has high expectations.

Sure wait about 2 or 3 seasons, and ND will be rocksolid on both sides of the football, but I wish someone could tell me their opinions.

(DON'T JUS SAY SOME DUMB COMMENTS CUZ YOU HATE ND)

I dont think he'll be fired. Usually a college coach is kept around 3-4 years so they can show what they can do with recruiting, although Willingham left Weiss some great players. That isnt always the case though, but usually a 9-3 and 10-2 season wont get you fired. If he wins his bowl game he'll be clear for another couple years.

It took a 6-6 season for Willingham to get fired so soon...

Your question probably has its foundation in the Willingham firing, but their situations are really different despite many peoples' opinions.
Weis has just rattled off another 2 loss season; this team only lost to the #2 and #3 ranked teams in the nation, so that's not too shabby.
Willingham's career began promising, but then his next two seasons were at .500 - that's why Willingham was fired. Weis would have to lose another 5 more games per season to equal those Willingham years.
By the way, ND landed the #1 recruit for 2007 in Jimmy Clausen (quarterback). Why do you think the top player and quarterback in the nation would select ND.......one reason.....CW.

it's not that his job is in jeopardy, the school is worried that maybe in a year or 2 he might opt out of his contract and become a head coach in the NFL. i would hate to see this considering the Irish are 10-2 and on there way to the sugar bowl
(maybe) don't worry about the blowouts. USC and Michigan are damn good teams.and you are right about that defense.they could use a little help. we'll start hearing more about this after the season is over. for now, relax, Weiss is not going anywhere.
GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!

Nah, he's deftintly staying here for at least 3 or 4 years unless he wants to pursue an NFL coaching job. Hopefully, Charlie Weis can teach Jimmy Clausen for his four years in college.

No. I think they would give him at least another 2 to 3 years. You figure right now he is still coaching someone elses players, he didn't recruit all these guys. The recruiting class will get better and they will be playing for a championship in the near future.

Well after what they did to Willingham, I can't say for certain anymore. However, not knowing the alumni base, and just basing this guesstimation on what I see and hear, Notre Dame will not abandon Weiss yet. His performance thus far is VERY comparable to Willingham's, so it may just boil down to how POPULAR Charlie is with the alumni. Apparently Ty did not enjoy the adoration of said power base.

That's how it is at most major universities. At Ohio State, for instance, John Cooper lost all of his favor with the fan base because of his lack of accountability when it came to dealing with the evil devil pit state up north. Cooper was EXTREMELY successful at recruiting, and had a very good winning percentage, but what did him in was his utter FAILURE in The Game.

He is fine bro. He is only in his 2nd year with Notre Dame. He is still dealing with some players from the prior coach. Give him time and he will bring ND to were they need to be.

No, ND is not having that bad season...I think they did good enough to produce a "respectable season"...Which means Charlie should not be blamed!!
