I had at least 4 law school classmates who were over 50. In fact, one of them was in her 60s and another was in his 70s. It's never too late if you're motivated enough. The problem you may run into is finding a job after you graduate and pass the bar since prospective employers would likely assume you don't plan to work for many more years. However, if you start networking now with lawyers in the DA's office or defense attorneys in your area (depending on which side you're considering), you'll have a better chance of finding employment later. Good luck!

Go for it.

Your experience and perspective would be an assett. Once you pass the Bar, I am sure you'd be able to find public defender work without a problem (at least that is where I would start if criminal defense was my area of interest).

Not alot of $ to start, build a reputation and the $ will come.

I don't believe in the concept of "too old" for anything!

After all, Grandma Moses didn't start painting until she was 80.

Harriet Doerr didn't write her first novel until she was 73, (having finished her college degree at 67!)

In many ways, us old-timers are better suited for college. Ask any college professor, he'll take a room full of gray-haired seniors over a room full of high school seniors any day!

No way. It's not too late. You are only as old as you feel. If your dream is to be a criminal lawyer, go for it!

Let me ask it this way.

lets say ti takes 5 years to get a degree. You'll be 55.

If you don't take the class, how old will you be in 5 years?

Take the class and see if it works for you
