You're dumb if you believe all the stereotypes you hear. I come from a very hard working family we used to be very poor but now were well off because we worked hard to get where we are. And you're obviously not black, you don't know what it's like to be black. It's not in our head we face racism everyday in this world. So until you take a walk in our shoes I honestly suggest you shut the hell up.

Um, Im not trying to yank anyones chain. And it is just so sad what happened to that boy in NYC. I couldnt pray more for his poor fiance and baby. BUT..... facts are facts. He hit and undercover car, and almost hit an undercover cop. That is assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon. And police officers are allowed to used deadly force in that situation. And the 50 rounds were shot by 5 cops, thats 10 rounds per beretta. And there were 2 white cops, 2 black cops, and 1 hispanic cop. It wasnt the fact that they were black. They were attempting to evade police. And this does sound a little racist, but a very similar situation happened in my home town to a car full of WHITE boys, and the "white community" and .......the pope or whatever religious leader didnt stage a protest claiming it was race related.

It is always clear when people do not know the meaning of the terms that they use. Racism is not the same as racial bias. Racism is the act of the institutional group in power choosing to deny another group the same privileges that they have based only on the oppressed groups race. Racial bias just means that you prefer people who are of the same race as you more than people who are of another race. The first is based on hate, the second on common experiences and world views. It is possible that Oprah relates to Obama's views based on their similar experiences in this this culture. The degree this common experience exerts on her support for Obama for president can only be surmised. We all choose those to which we respond positively. It is far more scary that The U.S.A. would choose Bush to represent us - twice!!?? What bias or -ism is the cause of that disaster? What did the people find in him that was like them? Ignorance?

#1 we do not cry racism, in fact it happens to us on a daily basis. i am a black woman and i do not fit the usual stereotypes but i still get racist things done and said to and about me. you have to walk in our shoes to know what it is like to be black. whites are always downing us yet they know nothing about the black race. don't believe everything u see on tv cuz it's all puffed up stuff anyway. and my husband and i work everyday. i work9 1/2 hours a day and my husband drives his own 18 wheeler, working at least 12 hours a day. to top it off when he is off and riding from place to place he gets pulled over often because he has a 2006 Escalade, i guess we are not supposed to have nice things huh? most whites think we are nothing, in fact we really do work hard and we do want to be accepted in a society that hates us....
I am very glad that i am not a racist, but i do understand what we go through and you don't. you should make it a point to become a friend to a black person and chill with them for about a week, you will see just what we go through.

I am somewhat offended but you are correct. YES there is racism and it should not be brushed aside
HOWEVER I agree with Malcolm X when he asked instead of trying all this intergration, why not just teach and build and grow in your own community????
Black people are the only people I've lived around who do not support each other. I live in a Korean neighbouhood and they shopped there FIRST before sending their money elsewhere. The Greek in the Bahamas will help each other out to the point you can be a Greek out of Canada and visiting and the next thing you know you are being offered jobs and business dealings w/ the Bahamiam Greek community.
The Chinese help each other out, the Italians, the Irish.
Yeah, they really do need to do better on the whole.

Blacks always say they are pulled over because of their skin color and they face racism daily. In my state everyday black people speed past me in the left lane driving 30mph over the speed limit, especially black women, and its never because they're law breakers its I diddin do nuffin I'm black. I've had black friends who've talked about this and I get tired of their victim mentality.

It very well could be that some blacks have just relied on the cry of racism to get out of being responsible for their actions. Many blacks do try to make a difference and some of them are victims of racism. Then there are the ones that are caught in a crime and use the cry of racism to divert attention away from their crime. Clever, huh?

Obviously, someone must have accused you of racism. There probably right...... because from your statement it sounds like you are. You are probably not black, so how would you know that blacks are Lazy and don't take responsibility for their lives. I really hated the fact how you outed Blacks from what you call the REAL WORD that seems to be working harder than us. Why don't Racist people like to admit there racist?

Why do people generalize when forming a question about a particular race as if they can speak for all of that ethnic group? In fact, they even think they can speak for all ethnic groups in defense of the type of question they asked, as if they did a survey to find out the responses from those people. Do dumb people just whine about ignorance because they're too stupid to take responsibility for having lacking intelligence?

I agree that we all should take responsibility for our lives, but there are just as many lazy white people (and other races too) who don't take responsiblity for their lives too. Those traits definitely cross color lines in this country so step down from your high horse.

we don't "cry" anything. examine your own question. people like you exist and we know it. and if you are referring to the Black man who was shot 50 times by the cops, you should really just shut the hell up. that was atrocious. racist cops and racist society in general is the problem. not Black people who speak out against it. your question is full of negative stereotypes that the majority of this country believes in. people like you are the problem with this country today. you racists make me sick!!!
