I would ask him up front.. Ask him if he actually meant it, if he loved you. If not, then I would say get out of that situation. If he keeps joking around, tell him that this relationship is not a joke... And that you are serious in being this relationship. Think long and hard.....
Also, I don't know if you are into this kind of stuff, but I would say pray and ask God to help you. He will.. thats my advice to you...

he IS a jerk remarks like that don't help your peace of mind. Tell him to be serious or get the f*** out of your life if he likes this girl because of what ever maybe he should stay with her. It's demeaning and could turn into a habbit of you accepting these comments and evolving into something worse (abuse)

Any guy that would tell me he loved me and then put in a "joke" about your friend (which I didn't find funny in the least bit) needs to be put in his place...fast.
Let him know that isn't funny and until he can mature, he can lose your phone number.

hm you both are made for each other, i dont think he loves u and not sure if you do either. but if you do, move away or take a breake from him. when you ignore guys thats the time they realise that they are losing you. if he love you he dont wanna lose you.
