I realize it must be very difficult to surrender your independence...Just this past summer during sail fest an elderly man plowed a crowd of people over in my hometown....its just common sense to monitor them...thanks.

Not all elderly drivers are the same but yes there are a lot more accidents involving elderly drivers and there needs to be a lot better monitoring and if they cannot drive have something set up for them where they can still get around to get groceries.

There should be a mandatory test at 60 then every 3-5 years until you are dead lol. I don't think their reflexes are up to par and they cause way to many accidents. I think if they are worried about taking a test then there is a reason for them to take it. Why worry if there isn't anything wrong with you?! It would never be a law though. To many baby boomers turning 60 and they will never say they cant drive anymore :( sometimes you have to think about other peoples safety before your freedom!

no see the question is who might want to't watch it I advise which will be so ******* hilarious purely imagine that yet in the journey that they were battling with canes and walkers and that**** one among them might want to die in about 2 or 3 minutes so it does no longer very last that lengthy i can make a video and positioned it on youtube or somethin i might want to get a large style of subscribers for that....yet........ the opportunities of that happening are probaly like a million in 10000

I say make it 60. I've seen people driving who were shaking so hard they couldn't have been seeing clearly. Latest example was a lady driving one of those HUGE Dodge trucks. Scarey. (I'm 51, and I'm willing to retest any time, even annually, for those who will jump on me because I'm too hard on the old folks!)

Anyone after age 70 who wants to still drive should have to take the behind-the-wheel test at least every other year. If they fail, no qwestions, they lose their license. That's how Dragon thinks it should work.

just because people are old doesn't mean they are incapacitated or senile. the guy in Santa Monica had Alzheimer's disease. yes, people with Alzheimer's should be kept from driving. but don't assume that ALL old people suffer from Alzheimer's! it is not true and that is ageism.
poor little old people.
