I'm sure there are plenty of girls that are obsessed as well. But, to be more specific to your question, statistically there are more boys who prefer the speed, agression and excitement normally associated with video games in general.

I used to be really be into my playstation but i have grown out of it now. Not only boys are addicted to the play station i think it has more to do with age rather then gender and also the amount of time you have on you hands to play wih

it's a way of escaping from the real world. where else could i fight the nazis? it's ultimately rewarding too, although i'm at a loss to explain why

It's not an age thing either because I'm 37 and I still LOVE games ...drives my wife crazy...

We love it because girls don't get it. It's our domain and we want it to stay that way. It gives us a little bit of time to ourselves.
