How far would $300 billion gone for health care here in the U.S. and what about those who tout " we don't have the money" for health care? If you could would you have rather chosen health care for Americans over spending in Iraq?

The official total for the Iraq war will cross $500B this year, and the unofficial total with all of the hidden war costs is probably over $1T.

Sad, but true. This was one major boo boo. The war in Iraq has greatly lowered our international integrity, taken the wind out of the sails of any future threat of military action, bankrupted the US, divided our country, and destroyed the lives and livelihood of 10M Iraqi's. Oh- and the lives of nearly 3,000 american soldiers (and many more seriously wounded).

yes- it could have done a lot of good in this country. Instead- we spent it destroying another's.

Are you kidding ? You need to look at the achievements. No more worry about WMDs. Saddam removed from power. Of course, we lost a couple of thousand of our soldiers. But then, US (and in fact the whole world) is now a safer place to live. Do you think these are small missions that Bush accomplished ? Is 300 bill too much to pay for these ?
