When a young girls begins puberty, many changes are occurring in her body. There is no set time table for these changes...you just have to be patient and let your body sort it all out. Most girls begin to menstruate about 2 to 2 1/2 years after their breasts start to develop. The first several cycles of your period can be sporadic and difficult to predict. It is not uncommon for girls to have their first period and then go several months with no occurrence, some spotting, some cramping, etc. Just hang in there; eventually, all of your bodies systems will level out and start working together, allowing for a more regular and easier to predict cycle.

this is not unusual for the first time, you didn't state how old you were, I assume you are about 12-14 years of age,
but if you haven't gotten your period regular by the time you reach 15-16 ask mom to get you to a doctor and see if there is a way to regulate periods, you might also just experience a light flow or light spotting, be lucky, I suffered from heavy periods and cramping.

Dear One,
Please learn how to spell or your periods won't mean a thing.
If you are wondering, go to your school nurse, I am assuming you are in school. Or talk to an adult you care about and tell them about your concern. Please do this now, and don't believe what your girl friends tell you. You need professional advice.
