I have AAA road service and after only a few times towing my Road King they now refuse to pick it up when it breaks down. Is there a national Harley related towing service that anyone knows of? I realize part of the price of owning a Harley is dealing with it when it stops running, but I'm not a big fan of being left walking.

Don't listen to these a holes here, Join H.O.G. membership has some benefits. You can call 1-800-258-2464. Also call the closet Harley Dealer.

Ignoring what most of these a'ssholes say (what, do they spend all their time waiting for an opportunity to insult HD riders? I wish they'd call ME a f'ag or whatever to my FACE instead of hiding behind the anonymity afforded in cyberspace, the cornholers) I have to say that you may have a lemon. I had a 98 RK for 5 years without ever having it fail to start or get me where I was going. Now I have an '06 RK as well as an '05 Sporty custom and an '05 Lowrider. I've been riding HD since I was 16 and that was during the beginning of the AMF years! (1971). With very few instances of repairs outside of general maintenance, I've never been left on the road by an HD. And I put about 6,000 miles a month on my bikes, spread amongst the 3.

That said, AAA is yanking your chain; jerkin yer gerkin as it were. I'd drop my membership immediately and sue them. Then talk to your dealer about the best service provider.

Keep the contact patch down and watch for soccer moms in minivans and geeks on japperhogs!

I agree that you should find out why the bike is breaking down. Is the dealership repairing it properly? I have a 99 FLSTC and I've never had a problem with it. I've had two other FLSTCs and had no problems with them either. At any rate, Harley Owners Group has a towing plan with their annual membership. I also have a towing plan through Cingular and it covers bikes as well.

Pay no mind to those who can only insult Harley riders. Trust me, it kills them that they don't have one.

You got a new Harley and it breaks down that often? Sounds to me like I'd be demanding Harley fix the problem...and honor their 3 year warrentee.

Aside from that, it's called A PICK-UP TRUCK or a friend with a pick-up. My old sportster broke down once and that is what I did...My new one (04 Heriatge - got it new in December 04) hasn't broke down yet and I got just about 15,000 miles on it...

We use Road America which also provides coverage in the UK and Europe. For $25.00 annual, you can cover up to 2 bikes for the same owner. The premium level coverage, also provides some benefits for overnight stay (not valid in CA) in the event major bike repairs are req'd on a trip.

HOG endorsed.

Buy Japanese. You won't have to deal with that towing service so often. Doesn't it tell you something that you've had SO MANY PROBLEMS that even AAA won't help anymore? Get rid of the overpriced image and get something that will get you home.

It sounds like you are out on your own without a chase vehicle. You might want to risk a trip down to the local bar, but only an idiot takes a Harley out on the open road without a chase vehicle. You need to make sure that a friend or the old lady is always behind you in the truck (preferably one of the Ford Harley Davidson models) with an enclosed trailer so you can roll the bike in to the trailer if it stops running (or it starts to rain).

If you're a AAA Plus member, they have to provide this service or risk being sued(& losing a huge lawsuit).

Come off it, HDW.
We see you say you got a new Harley. yeah, yeah, yeah.
We all know that new Harleys come with an automatic 1 year H.O.G. membership. And we know that towing is a benefit of membership.

So you call AAA.....................if any of this is true, you SHOULD be walking!
