Is there a double standard in hiring practice amoung most employers! Hire the green-horn for maximum expliotation least resistance mind-set by greedy employers etc!

It's a great big circle of events that not many want to tackle or try to understand. You may think I am off track here but please read on.
Although some unions are corrupt, there are many that serve a purpose. CWA and IBEW to name just two. Over the years they have been losing their power due to employees not wanting to spend the extra dollars on representation that doesn't appear necessary at the time. Or, for some reason, do not believe business will take advantage of them. And, when a United States president (Reagan) can terminate an entire work force because of the threat to strike it takes away what power the unions have.
Today, there are far fewer unions representing workers than there were 25 years ago. By the way, 25 years ago, most of us felt comfortable with employment and the long term benefits of staying with one employer. This is no longer true.
Employers now feel they can freely hire who ever they want because they have no threat of a bargaining entity that, if they (the employer) treated the employees poorly would be threatened with a strike or action by the union.
So, since employers have the ability with impunity to hire who ever they please, why wouldn't they hire under skilled, low wage earners like illegals, no matter how they speak or write. It's all about profit!
I had a job 25 years ago that paid $11 per hour, at the same time I bought a house that cost: $ 30 thousand. Today, that same job pays $ 17 - 19 per hour, the house: $275 thousand. The math: Wage increase less than 100%. Cost of housing increase more than 300%.
All I'm saying, nobody is protecting the worker. It won't matter if there illegal unless imagration, border and customs are able to do their jobs. And, employers start paying a fair wage for qualified craftman in most trades.
Just so you know, I'm white collar and voted for Reagan but can see the injustice.

In a global economy, those who work harder and who are dedicated enough to learn multiple languages will get jobs faster and be better paid. It's called "competition" and it's the hallmark of free enterprise. Americans are so poorly educated and are so negatively self-motivated that today they cannot pass the new global job market testing tools for even janitorial positions. (one needs to know chemistry for hazardous waste and chemicals in those positions.) There has always been a "double standard" in hiring practices. White males still get paid much more than women do, for example, on the average for the same positions. And, older, long-term employees, such as in nursing and teaching, are commonly pushed out before benefits kick in in favor of younger starter-paid employees, just to save a buck.

Honey, don't be close minded and learn Spanish or the different language on your own understanding no longer to make it basic for the illegals, what once you've an emergency or you wander away on the middle of the evening and the in straight forward words human being able that would truly help you doesn't communicate English, how are you going to communicate? did you recognize that in maximum jobs immediately the better languages you communicate the better funds you're making? doesn't harm to amplify your tongue, maximum international places learn English besides different languages, so i do not see why, some human beings residing in this large usa do not favor to be sure better than what their nostril factors.

Are you an immigrant? Your written English seems to show that you are one! Nonetheless, in a profit driven economy, it isnt surprising that an employer would like to hire someone who can do the same job at a lesser cost, notwithstanding the 'poor' written and speaking skills of the worker.

Because immigrants who came to this country came here to bust their tail. Many Americans oversee this quality in immigrants. Immigrants don't come here to slack off that's why they get the jobs. Some Americans think an easy job is guaranteed thats why they dont succeed. If you ask me, it's the attitude that counts not legal status.

They don't have to pay them as much...you know when they are cheating you & can file a complaint, & they usually just suck it up.
