I've been smoking since Sunday. A lot on sunday, and a little bit every day since, including this morning. Now I've had a work filled week (which I think tends to make me antisocial, but not sure if its the work or the weed). Another thing, I don't feel like doing shiit after lunch at work (once again don't know wether to blame it on the weed). Summary of feelings right now: antisocial (like I don't really feel like calling nobody, I also don't feel real nice and loving and shiit, I wish I did), lazy. Smokers' opinions and insights are valued. Maybe its just pointing out something I need to work on (socialness), or maybe I don't have to do shiit and just chill with my leftover high. let me know.

I am a smoker of about 10 years now. Pot can have different effect on you depending on the quailty of your pot. I have had some that makes no anti social, some that makes me hyper, aome that makes me have the giggles. If I sit down and smoke alot then yes I get layz and antisocial. Any time I smoke swag (regual weed) I get lazy. If thats what you smoke then maybe you should upgrade to some dro or nuggets or dank or what ever else you wanna call it. It is alot more expensive but the quality is soooooo much better and you will enjoy your high much more.

No matter what anybody tells you, pot totally affects your ambitition and over all drive to do things. I don't think it's physically adicting, it's more of a habit you form... get home from work, your a little tired, so insted of eating something and getting some energy and doing something, you sit back, roll one up, click on the TV and poof...midnight, time to go to bed. Most people that develop a habit or adiction, they are trying to numb the brain to the point they dont think about another problem...whcih i think makes for a perfect mental environmnet for depression...which means you use more...see how the vicious cycle works?

I have smoked for a long time, at one point everyday for 10+ years...it became a big problem, smoking was more fun then anything, in fact, it got to the point i'd rather sit home and blow a joint then do important things...like see my family, meet girls and preform at work....it was all consuming.

So, back about 3 years ago i quit...for about 6 months, i got my motovation back and in general, made my life better and found things to do beside smoking pot. Now, I still smoke, but, only when around old friends, in social situations...it's been a long time since i've sat home on a weekend night and smoked my self to sleep.

2 things to think about...my favorite pot quote, from the movie clueless "It's one thing to smoke up at a party once in awhile, it's totally differnt to walk through life in a haze"
and
some great advice from a college professor i met "pot is something to do in college and quit beofre you graduate"

smoke on kind brother...just dont over do it...anything in excess can be harmful!

as stated in the later responces.

Short in short. Marijuana affect everyone differently. if you dont like it dont do it. This sence of lack of ambition....hmmm, thats up for debate. Im an advid smoker and it actually motivates me. I get alot done when im high. I do school work better and have a higher desire to go out and do stuff. I rarely get munchies and it doesnt affect my relationship with my family or friends. The feeling of "blah'ness" for lack of better words is probably a small symtom of withdraw. Yes, marijuana is not addictive, but it is a poison and the body need to deal with it. Its the same way as people have withdraw symtoms to coffee and other caffine products. They arnt addictive yet you still feel the affects when you stop for a short time there after.

Disagree with the answer above me where it states that it is used to mask some greater depression or bad situation in your life. Marijuana for years have been used for the drive of the euphoric feeling it provides. Yes, in some users it promotes depression and solitude but then thats where we come back to the fact that pot effects different people differently. I have smoked for a long time with no desire to cover up some dark sad part of my life because i dont have any really, life is life.

If you dont like it you dont like it, dont worry what people think of it. As long as it doesnt become and addiction to you (a point where it effects your life negitivly) then smoke up. For the longest time pot has been used in the social sence to enjoy the chemical responce it triggers in the brain. I for one enjoy this and i have a good life, solid relationship with family friends and significant others.

Pot is personal, explore it and embrase it if you like what it offers. Dont if you dont. Look up the history of weed legalities. All this balonga about it turning you into a rapist or killer among many others is false. Its actually really interesting. Harry Anslinger (last name spelled wrong more then likely, phenetically right), this is a name you should search for if you want to understand where pot laws came from, he single handedly corrupted the minds of americains to believe pot is this wicked evil thing criminals smoke. Look at places around the world where it is accepted in the culture. Huge view differences. Mostly becasue there isnt the political backing of the DEA and federal cabinent.

Whatever you choose is right, hope this helps

let' me answer, even though I'm in the other side of the America...
you¡re likely to feel like that cos it's not accepted by society. i won't tell u it's right, however everything you do that does not follow the patterns of what's is accepted by culture tends to exclude you. I'm studying culture at college and there are laws in culture (not like the legal laws) that people follow to be "moral" and to fit in society nowadays, and people who is more free-minded and need to be away of these non-sense laws sometimes feels like they don't fit in society.

My advice, you can threat why do you need to "avoid reality" smoking, but remember that we live in a culture which tends to exclude what they cannot understand, that does not agree doing things that "normal people" (dammit, normal people does not exists, but we try to naturalize behavior as normal) do.

i do not know if this is going to help, but it's a piece of my point of view.

this is what happens when you smoke...same thing used to happen to me back in the day when i did....i didnt want to do anything...i got very tired (lazy) and didnt even want to get up off the couch....not even to satisfy the munchies...if you have smoked a lot as you say you did on sunday then this is probably a habit your body has now gotten into
