I don't think I would give up entirely. I am a palliative nurse so always want to see my patients through from start to end...only trouble is as one departs this world, another starts their journey..I would have to wait until there was a big lull, then run for it!
My job is crap paid, but I wouldn't do anything else. It is always an honour to be with someone at the end of their life.

I know it sounds kind of corny, but I actually get really depressed when I don't have a job for a while. I don't see how this would change even if I won the lottery. After a while, it would seem that doing whatever I wanted and having all the money to do it would make a lot of the experience of being wealthy feel empty. You're not meant to stagnate until you're much older.

Yes I would give up work gladly and let someone else be in the position to earn a living they might not have otherwise had.
I would also give some of my new found free time to doing some voluntary work as well as giving some of my lottery winnings to charity and local good causes.

i would keep working but it would be something i'd really enjoy doing, that way you don't get bored. and anyway if it doesn't work out then you have all you riches to fall back on.
P.S. have you won the lottery? if you have can i have £1000 for answering. buy only if you think my answer is good. if you haven't won the lottery then sorry for bothering you.

Depends on how much was won. If the amount I won, was around 100 million after taxes, then I wouldn't work. I would set enough money aside for my children (if I had any) so they can go to college, then I'd take a break from working for enough time for me to get my phd then I would go back to work. The money I earn for working would be placed in an account for my children.

Even if I won big style I'd continue working, life would be too boring, mates are at work family got their own commitments, might as well invest it and enjoy Lot's of hols in the sun off the interest you earn. And keep busy mentally and physically by working. xx

I would enjoy my money, I would have little time to get bored. I would be controlled enough to invest it wisely and live off the profit.
I would do voluntary work 1 day a week for three reasons.
1 to alleviate the feeling of guilt
2 to help me keep my feet on the ground
3 to still socialise with the general public.

What would motivate me to work if the lottery was a little amount. If I had a lot, I would start up a huge business and try to make more money. I would donate to charities and church of course!

I WOULDN'T. I would pick a social job like volunteering at a children's hospital or bartending. Something I would do no more than 3 days a week. I would do this to make my kids want to work and continue going to college even though they are financially stable. I worked before i will work after.
