I was sitting at a lunch table in highschool with my boyfriend and two other girls and their boyfriends. One of their boyfriends started to tell a perverted joke and the other guy was like, 'Dude, there are girls at the table.' .... so the guy stopped. When the other two girls got up to throw their plates away the guys started to tell the joke again .... but they stopped and looked at me. 'Maybe we shouldn't tell this with her here,' they said. At this point I was getting extremely angry ... I said 'Just tell the joke, you idiot.' So the one guy looked at my boyfriend and said, 'Hey, do you mind if she hears this?' My jaw dropped as my boyfriend stuttered on, incredulously, about how it was my choice and he had no say in the matter. That was the most disrespectful b.s. I've ever encountered. The guy explained that he was just trying to be respectful to my boyfriend, since 'men are supposed to be the leaders' in a relationship.....

I called a well-known company to come out and give me an estimate on having my couch and chairs recovered. They guy couldn't believe that I didn't have my husband there and when he was done with his short little spiel, got up, put his jacket on and told me to call him when my husband would give me the checkbook!
I had the checkbook right there, but this guy thought that I needed my husband's approval and okay. This was like ten years ago and it still burns me up.

Bear in mind that you are dealing with high school boys, and based on some of the questions they post on this site a whole lot of them are pretty dumb when it comes to girls and women.
Mine is that I have run into women who cannot believe that what another woman says may be correct. They will run it by a man, and if the guy "clears" it these women will buy it. If the guy disagrees (even if he's stupid and knows nothing about the issue) some women would take the guy's word over the woman's.

That is pretty sexist - he was basically saying that you don't have a mind of your own, and your boyfriend is supposed to think for you. That's really pathetic.
And it gets worse when you get older.
Like one time a female friend took me to lunch one day, and the server automatically put the check down in front of me, even though my friend was paying (that happens all the time, they automatically assume that if a man and a woman are eating together, the guy is the one who is paying)

I was getting a patio built, I called for a quote and the man would not visit if my husband was not home. He told me that he did not want to get involved if I chose something that my husband did not like and since my husband was paying for it, he wanted to get the description from him (we were both paying for it).
When I bought my car, the salesman told me that I should bring my boyfriend to give it a testdrive.
My husband cooks a lot (the kitchen is his) and when we buy kitchen products the sales person always talks to me. However, when it comes to talking about the price - they talk to my husband.

Wow...well, what are you gonna do? High school guys are idiots. Maybe they'll grow up, although I wouldn't count on it. Here's one. I was 23 years old, at a car dealership looking to buy a new car. My boyfriend was with me. The salesman was talking the car up, usual b.s. when I asked about something that was printed on the sales sticker. So the guy, instead of admitting that he didn't know what it meant, replied "That's just something to make 'little girls' ask questions" and looks at my boyfriend and chuckles...I wanted to drop kick him right there. (My boyfriend had a "oh, sh**" look on his face) I mean, this was MY car (my second one, at that) MY money, My name on the papers, yet this guy thought he could blow me off like that. OH, and THAT was just the LAST straw, we made it clear that this was MY car, but the whole time the guy talked to my BOYFRIEND like I wasn't even there. Needless to say, the guy didn't get a sale that night.

i'm a in good structure lean muscular white male in the united states. i'm continuously appeared at like i'm a rapist and a large style of cases women individuals or perhaps female adult males take better steps to attempt to stay away from me. Feminism demonizes adult males and victimizes women individuals.

Recently went for an elective surgery and the nurse asked if I had my husband's consent. I was livid - my body my rules why the H**** do I need his permission it's my Insurance Policy. I was so angry I asked for her supervisor - turns out she was from another state and it was a common practice and she didn't know that it was illegal. Imagine there are places here in the USA where a woman needs spousal consent for a simple surgery.

Yep, sounds like a high school issue. Sorry. I hope they are not your Bf's friends. My Bf actually has intelligent friends and I thank God for that.

Ma'am, why are you offended with the other girls boyfriend, (about the joke incident)? I think you misunderstand him. It doesn't seem he was implying that your boyfriend ruled you, but that it was disrespectful to tell sexual jokes to another man's girlfriend. Quite honestly, I believe he's right. That can easily be perceived as flirting. Think about it, would you be happy if another, (perhaps attractive) girl began telling sexual "breast" jokes to your boyfriend?
