(I use lancome's photogenic loose powder)- I'm doing a study abroad program in a small city in france for 6 months- should I buy a few extra just in case they don't sell it there or does makeup turn bad? How long does it usually last?

But I mean if I buy some extra cases, and don't open them (they wouldn't be exposed) for when my 1st product runs out....?

It will definitely last you the 6 months, and if you buy extras and don't open them (or expose them to bacteria) then they should last a year I'd say. Think about how long makeup has to last in stores, from being manufactured to shipping and then sitting around waiting to be sold! I think it's mostly the exposure to germs that makes it go bad. I think you're pretty safe with powder. And if you do run out, you can just order it online and have it shipped to you. =)

Definitely take an extra or two---The makeup I use has an expiration date on it too...so check that. When I buy, the exp date is usually for another 2 years or so...so I bet you'll be safe by taking it along on your trip, just in case they don't have your brand. It's also probably less expensive here than there, as most of those type products cost much much more. Good Luck!

As a rule of thumb...toss makeup after a year. Except mascara or any liquid eye products. Toss those after 6 months. After a while, it's not that the makeup goes bad, it's that bacteria from your skin, etc gets into the makeup and builds up..you don't want to put that on your face...

I say you should buy one or two more or maybe even three. I'm not completely sure how long it lasts, but make-up can irritate your skin after awhile. If you have sensitive skin you might want to throw it out sooner. But make-up lasts for a few months and even sometimes up to a year.

you're able to pass to the Clinique counter or Lancome Counter on the mall. I word a great style of human beings say MAC, yet say no to MAC. it is going to aggravate your dermis and additionally you will finally end up lined in zits. i do no longer safeguard Clinique's make up, yet i like their cleansing device. you're able to initiate now, so which you detect some thing this is appropriate on your wedding ceremony. be sure you pass matte, so which you do no longer shine on your pictures. additionally, in case you test now, you may take some pictures with your new makeup and notice if it works. Congratulations! Edited to function: do no longer use a mousse beginning place. it promises you coverage, yet they're packed with oil. extra oil = zits. you do no longer choose zits on your honeymoon!
