I just realized that all the stamps I have at home are not of the same value. How much does it take to post an envelope, with say just one 8 * 11 1/2 sized paper in it?

Within the US, 39 cents, up to one ounce. The other stamps are still usable, just buy some penny stamps to make up the difference.

of course it's 39 cents, so as not to waste ur 37 cent stamps u can purchase 2 cent stamps, till they're all but none the less there is an increase coming to 41 or 43 cents, and that's just awful(my opinion)
