It's actually fairly central within the Mid-Atlantic. The Mid-Atlantic includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York to the north of Philadelphia, and Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia to the south. It is at the eastern edge of the region, since it is coastal, but it is very close to the middle in terms of north to south orientation.
