Chronic heartburn is usually from acid reflux - stomach acid is getting past the little valve and into your esophagus. You also should know some natural ways to treat your heartburn. Learn them here https://tr.im/CureYourAcidReflux
The most immediate thing you can do is to stop drinking coffee and cola. Smoking is not good either, but that might be harder to stop. Don't over-eat. Don't lie down too soon after eating. Don't burp too much - this carries acid up with the burp.

I have been plagued with heartburn, leaky gut, constipation, reflux esophagitis and dyspepsia for years and nothing conventional medicine has offered really helped, at least not in the long run. By following only the first step in this book.

I was prescribed Lansoprazole which was brilliant but after two years of aching joints, extreme muscle pain which the doc gave me cortisone jags for, with some research I discovered the drug Lansoprazole was causing these rare side effects but it was I who diagnosed it NOT my doctor, I came off the drug 2 months ago, changed my diet and discovered just eating an apple stops any acid reflux, I eat an apple before bed, brilliant no acid, any time I feel the slightest sign of reflux I simply eat an apple.

Apple juice is not that good nor is anything else I have tried including honey at stopping reflux.

I had moderate heartburn with my first pregnancy. If I remember correctly it started at about the time of my second trimester. But, with my second pregnancy... Whoa Nelly! I was eating a bottle of tums a week , I think! It started at about the same time and got progressively worse until delivery. My OB/GYN said that it was because I "carried" my babies differently. My boy was very low and my girl (the second) was very high. The more the baby presses on your actual stomach, the more heartburn you are likely to have. (And as for the heartburn/baby having hair myth is concerned, both of my kids had lots of hair. Lol.)

It is normal. My heartburn started about the same time as yours. It was so severe my husband had to go to the store at three in the morning for Tums.

Heartburn is very common in the first & third trimester of pregnancy. It's from the hormones & baby pushing on your stomach (third trimester).

Yep, I had it. An old wives's tale was told to me that it meant your unborn child would have lots of hair. They both had a head full. Take the Tums with calcium like the above said, that's what my OB/GYN suggested to me.
