I hate to say but EVERYBODY is wrong, it was Buck Oneil, he coached the Cubs. He recently passed away, and because the hall of fame voters are idiots he will never get to see his name in the hall of fame. he was passed over last year and it was considered by many as a huge insult. Oneil was an old ***** league baseball player he played with the likes of Satchel Paige, Rube Foster and Josh Gibson just to name a few. here is an insert from an article.

John Jordan "Buck" O'Neil (November 13, 1911 – October 6, 2006) was an American first baseman and manager in ***** league baseball, most notably in the ***** American League with the Kansas City Monarchs. After his playing days, he became the first African American coach in Major League Baseball, and also worked as a scout. In his later years he became a popular and renowned speaker and interview subject, helping to renew widespread interest in the ***** leagues, and played a major role in establishing the ***** Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri.

Frank Robinson, who was player-manager for the Cleveland Indians in 1975. The second was Larry Doby (who, coincidentally, was also the 2nd black *player* in the majors) with the White Sox in 1978.

Frank Robinson for the Cleveland Indians

Frank Robinson was the manager of the Cleveland Indians in 1975. I think he did a pretty good job with the Montreal Expos considering he did not have much to work with. But I think his true value was as the disciplinarian for baseball.

Bud Black is the 1st ex-pitcher to be named an entire-time (no longer era in-between) supervisor because of the fact the enlargement Tampa Bay devil Rays began existence with Larry Rothschild in value in 1998. There hasn't been yet another ex-pitcher/supervisor on account that Rothschild, Larry Dierker of the Houston Astros and Joe Kerrigan of the Boston crimson Sox all have been given bounced in 2001.
