Cranberry juice will not cure a UTI, but it will alleviate the symptoms. You need antibiotics to cure it, and left untreated it can ultimately lead to serious kidney problems. Cranberry juice is a good preventative measure. Prone to UTIs myself, I like to take the cranberry pills as a preventative means.

for cure of UTI you need an antibiotic like co-trimoxazole,qunolones etc.,
But juices with Vitamin C, Include cranberry juice prevents infection of the urinary tract by keeping the urine an acid Ph.
Drink plenty of cranberry juice. It can be very helpful in preventing and treating a urinary tract infection. It works by preventing bacteria from sticking to the walls of the bladder where it can multiply and cause infection. Cranberry juice acts like a natural antibiotic to the urinary system. Not all juices do this....but cranberry juice and blueberry juice are two that do.

It is fact due to specific compounds called condensed tannins (specifically proanthocyanidins) in cranberries, blueberries and other vaccinium fruit species which prevent the attachment of P-Fimbriated E.Coli to the walls of the urinary tract. P-Fimbriated E. Coli bacteria is a major culprit in UTI's.

besides that Drink lots of clear liquids - up to 10 glasses per day. Avoid caffeine which can increase bladder spasms

No You need a special anitbiotic called microbid. There are pills you can purchase over the counter to ease the discomfort, but without proper treatment it will only get worse, and it will get worse fast. Cranberry juice is a good preventative and in rare cases a very minor infection may be fought off but not likely if it has progressed.

Its better to get the cranberry supplement pills and take a bunch of those and drink a ton of water...they are more potent than the juice. You can get them in the vitamin section at the grocery store.
