well, you can always go with the classics; there is a reason why they're called "classics" - godfather, citizen kane, gone with the wind, one flew over the cuckoo's nest, etc. but really, i would need more info about the people you are buying for. some good films that have come out recently are capote, walk the line, crash, hustle & flow, x-men 3, the incredibles.... there is one movie that i saw recently that i'm trying to recommend to everyone, though. it's called "millions," and it's sort of a family movie directed by the same guy who made trainspotting and 28 days later. you should check it out, it's really cool.
