I think it was like on Saturday night when I heard that a mother of 7 kids had died from a car who had just hit and ran. They showed a picture of her, and she looked so calm, and so I felt that was depressing to watch. I'm not a fan of the news anyways.

I watch headline news for a couple of hours everyday. It can be depressing, but this channel makes it easier to digest. Besides, no matter how depressing or sad the news is, we should better ourselves by at least being aware of the world around us. Being educated on current events makes you a more rounded person and makes you seem educated. I think everyone should watch the news or read a paper everyday, then we all can have grown up discussions about the issues.

I haven't watched the news or read the papers for at least 10 years. Yet i manage to hear about everything worth discussing anyway. So i guess i know what i need to, and the rest i can always search the web for info if i absolutly need to. I find that mostly the medias are carriers of bad news...

I watch the news from time to time and also pick up a newspaper from time to time, but I feel that I'm actually better off without knowing the gory, depressing details of everything that's going on in the world.

I can read or watch the news with no problem. I prefer to read it online so that I don't expose my 9-year-old daughter to any unnecessary negativity.

It's too bad all we want is sensationalism. That causes a lack of good information from being on the news.

A major US network news program has the saying "If it doesn't bleed, it doesn't lead."

What passes for 'news' is mere yellow journalism or sensationalism. There's more disinformation than news.
