If you'd like to change the graphics chip, you can get them up to
512mb in memory. Since you have a 128, you can still get
256 and 512. You can do this at any electronis store near you, depending on what they have. If you want to upgrade to WinVista,
your Random Access Memory (RAM) must be at least 512mb, you hard drive at least 40gb with 15gb free, and your current graphics chip is OK for now, as long as it's 3D and DirectX9
capable. Your Inspiron 9100 is ready for this edition of Vista:
ULTIMATE.
This is the best Vista possible and it's got all the Windows Vista designatted feats, unlike HOME PREM.,HOME BASIC, or BUSINESS.
You can also change your RAM memory to these available:
64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048 mb
They'll help you install Vista easier(the ones 512 and over.)
I hope this helped!

If that's the same as the laptop I have, you need a new computer if you want to upgrade. If it is a desktop, you need to make sure the motherboard can handle the type of card (agp, for example) and the card's capabilities (some cards are too fast for the motherboard, so you end up wasting your money). I frequenly use www.tomshardware.com in my research process.
