It has a lavender or light mauve bloom, most of the leaves (but not all) drop in the fall, unlike my others. This is a mid atlantic region, zone 7. The bloom is single, mid to large size, if that helps. This is the fourth year in a row that it has bloomed in the fall as well as in mid spring. Any idea what it's name or type might be? Thanks.

I'm in zone 9 and all my (bonsai) formosa azaleas do that. I thought they were supposed to. When i lived in Georgia, the azaleas were mostly alabamense and viscosum, and those all bloomed once a year.

Formosa azaleas shouldn't be deciduous. Something is wrong. They will lose some leaves, but shouldn't lose all.
