Since they fed, clothed, cleaned, educated, kept us at home and loved us for approximately the first twenty years of our lives that we owe them some respect and dignity and care in their latter years.

I know that you should love and respect your parents. And by all means be honest with your parents. Sometimes it seems parents are just being bossy and controling, but, really they are trying to help you. I don't know anything about your parents, but it sounds like you may feel a little rebellious. Talk to your parents, let them know how you feel. Don't clam up on them, it just causes frustration.

Thank them for the care they gave us, forgive them for the mistakes they made. Try to love them as the imperfect beings they are--- and help them as much as we are able.
The same obligation we have for all living beings.
If you feel more because of your connection to them, then do more.

parents deserve love , respect, and and and they did it all for you , they gave love unconditionally, and they probably still do
